Research has shown differences with respect to such characteristics as ankle circumference, circumference of the ball of the foot (greater in men) and circumference of the instep (greater in men).     thorlo needs to size the socks correctly. the recent order only covers my heel with more effort than I would like, and the ankle coverage is so low that it barely covers the heel on my shoes, and I am getting sun burns in these locations

    I love thorlo socks, but I made a big mistake when I ordered these. I chose the "low cut" instead of the "athlete's quarter" or above ankle sock. As a result, whenever I walk, the back slides down to the bottom of my heel, making it very uncomfortable. In future, I will be sure to choose the correct model. However, right now I'm stuck with four pairs of socks that slide instead of staying in place.
