For feet that hurt
Foot Protection is Our Game
Regardless of how often or how intensely you snowboard, with Thorlos, it’s all about protecting your feet. We focus on protection with our engineered padding so you can have as much fun as possible.
Our clinically-tested padding is put precisely where you need it:
Calf padding: protects lower leg from boot pressure and shearing forces = more comfort
Ball and heel padding: protects against shearing forces = more comfort
Shin, instep and arch padding: lighter padding for better fit = more comfort
“These socks were amazing! Kept me warm, dry and comfortable when I boarded 4 days in a row, 8hrs each day!” Kyle M.
Recreational boarders by definition don’t get out on the mountain very much. The last thing they want is their feet to hurt or get cold. Thorlos SNB clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS) for snowboarding provided more protection than regular snowboarding socks and will keep you comfortable and out on the snow. This padding has been clinically shown in independent studies to reduce blisters, pain, pressures on the feet and moisture. They also were designed to provide a comfortable fit with rental boots for boarding on easy-to-varied terrain.
The more dense padding in the SNB is an excellent choice for women in particular, as a woman’s foot is usually smaller in the ankle and has a higher instep than a man’s foot. The ankle padding and spandex arch support are perfect for these anatomical differences, ensuring great protection and the best possible fit. Warmth is assured by the use of a blend of THORLON and wool yarns.
“Gave as a gift. She wears them every time she goes snowboarding.” Meredith C.
In the end, more protection equals more comfort, which means you can snowboard to your heart’s content.

For experienced boarders and those who race or are competitive freestylers, we make our XSNB performance-level snowboarding socks with lighter protective padding and less protection. At this level, you want absolutely no “slop” inside your boot so you can cleanly and quickly transfer your foot actions to the edge of the board. You need a Lite padded sock (LPS) that doesn’t get in the way, yet protects in a way that complements professionally fitted boots. This is our XSNB—where the X is for extreme.
We use a blend of THORLON® and THORWICK® in our thin-padded XSNB snowboarding sock for superior wicking to keep your feet dry because a dry foot is a warm foot. THORLON maintains its resiliency so the cushioning will last all day long.
“The Thorlos snowboarding socks were so much better than others I bought at a board shop because they stay up, don't bunch up in your boots and really keep your feet warm and they are soft, not like itchy wool.” Linda S

I use there for work with my steel toes boots every day. I pull them up once and they stay up. They are comfortable and warm, but not hot. No blisters or rubs. My only choice. Gave a pair to my Grandson who is a boarder. Most awe sum!

These are quality, well made socks. I have earlier versions of this sock (I still wear them). I consider Thorlos to be the best. I have Burton Ions which are stiff, tight fitting boots and these work great.

These socks are great! They feel comfortable and thick/cushioned. Great for the cold weather when snowboarding and great to wear in the snowboarding boots. Definitely a great investment to go along with all the other snowboarding gear.
