Kid's Tennis Socks

Faster Game Means More Demands on Your Feet

If you’re like many tennis players, at some point you’ve complained about blisters and achy feet—and no wonder. The way tennis is played today clearly can punish your feet. New racquet technologies are making the game faster. There used to be four seconds between hits; now there can be as few as two. The increased speed of the game increases the shearing forces placed on your feet. This means your feet are landing with the force of 3-Gs (or three times your body weight), leading to impact stresses and a condition called “tennis toe” or black toe. The result: foot protection is more important today than ever before. Thorlos clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS) can help.

“No more blisters on my toes. These socks are great.” Glenn B.

Power Starts with Your Feet

Your feet are critically important when you play tennis. The tennis stroke is a series of linked movements. Whatever goes through the racquet during a serve actually starts with your feet. Your power or energy transfer comes from having your feet firmly planted before and during your moves. This means the energy that eventually goes into the racquet depends upon your feet being at their best.

When your feet are uncomfortable, you won’t move as well and you’re likely to lose power. Achy feet or the twinges of a blister will slow you down and undermine your concentration. You won’t play as well as you’d like, and you certainly won’t enjoy the game as much as you’d like. Thorlos CTPS can help.

“Tennis is all about footwork, and this is the most comfortable and high-performing sock on the market. No chafing, blisters, and quick-wicking.” Frances T.

How Thorlos Help

Thorlos clinically-tested padding provides your feet with maximum protection. It dissipates the forces created by the sudden stops and starts and the lateral changes of direction that are repeated hundreds of times during a good tennis match. Thorlos padding has been clinically shown to reduce reduce blisters, foot pain and pressures, and wick moisture. With these damaging shearing forces in check, you can play in comfort, enjoy the game more and win more.

“They are comfortable and provide great cushioning.”  Theresa P.

Thorlos Clinically-Tested Padded Tennis Socks

Clinically-tested Thorlos padded tennis socks are recommended if you experience foot pain or want to prevent any foot conditions during or after playing. The padding is placed precisely where your foot needs protection:

Ball and heel padding: Protects the ball of the foot from the severe shearing and impact forces that occur during quick changes in direction and pivoting/spinning

Toe padding: Protects against “tennis toe”—that is,  banging of the toes in the front of the shoe during sudden stops.

“I don't limp around after tennis anymore since I have been wearing Thorlos!”  Joan D.

Tennis Camp Favorite

Nowhere is the protection provided by Thorlos tennis socks more vital and beneficial than at a tennis camp. These camps are intensive. Participants are involved and on their feet for 12 hours a day or more. The cost of attending is significant. Much of the focus is on speed, agility and overall movement; therefore, sore, achy or blistered feet are not an option. The last thing you want is to be sidelined or playing less than your best. Get the most out of tennis camp by wearing Thorlos CTPS, which have been clinically shown to reduce blisters,  foot pain and pressures, and wick moisture away from the feet. For extra small feet, we recommend our kids’ sport socks.

“My 13-year-old son wore these to a 2-week tennis camp and did not get any blisters!! Most of the other kids were complaining of blisters on their feet and how they hurt when they played tennis that day.  My son totally agrees these were a life saver.”  Beth W.

“I grew up playing a lot of sports. As a teenager, I never thought about the type of socks or shoes I wore. By the time I was in my mid 20s and started playing competitive tennis with USTA, my feet were already giving me problems because of the cheap cotton socks I had worn all those years playing sports. While at a Davis Cup event in Georgia, I ran across Thorlos padded socks and decided to give them a try. I could not believe the difference. I could play without my feet hurting. I could play longer. Now, in my 40s, I can still play just as long as I did in my 20s… not play as good… but play just as long, with Thorlos TMM - Tennis CTPS.”—Cori Peters, Social Media

Decent hybrid sock with cushioning and clean seams.

These have a medium weight thorlo cushioning on the ball and heel with a thinner material between and on the top of the foot. The cushioning section is a little bit thinner than the classic thorlo running socks. My feet sweat quite a bit in these, so I only wear them for an hour or so during exercise and then switch to thin nylon socks that breath more for most of the day. Best for exercise needs when you want the cushion, winter time, or if you have cold feet around the house.

    Great socks

I always thought a sock was a sock. But boy was I wrong. You can really tell the difference between Thorlo and regular socks. I particularly like the extra arch support during a workout.

    Don't like the new cuff

    03/31/17 | By

I thought that I'd try a low height for a change. But to my surprise, Thorlo has now put a cuff on their socks. On the micro mini, the cuff lands directly on top of the ankle bone. That wasn't very good planning. I sent them back.

    pricey but worth it

    03/26/17 | By

I've tried to find cheaper socks for everyday wear. Tennis shoe companies maybe should stick with shoes. The socks look much better than the photo & I wish I'd bought more pairs on clearance. My shoes go on & off through the day. The socks now tend to stay on. The low cut does not slip in the heel like most do with me, very important when working around boats.
