Reviews for Thorlos LTH

Didn't perform as advertised. Smartwool socks are significantly better. Feet were soaked and blisters ensued.

These socks are the perfect blend of cushion and coolness. They literally hug and massage your feet (as do most Thorlo socks). I wear these in the operating room year round, and would never go back to another sock. The cost is a wash, as these last me 2 to 3 years before I replace them. Best. Socks. Ever.

Cushioning is great in the footbed area, and across the top of the foot to prevent pressure/hot points. Toe area is roomy and doesn't tuck or wad my toes up. This part of the sock is spot-on, and fits my big dawgs perfectly. Moisture wicking kept my feet pretty dry and comfortable until right at the end of the day - but then, nothing is really comfortable then, so it's not the socks' fault. The tops are another story. Good elasticity keeps the tops up - at the very top too good. Narrow band of elastic draws the diameter of the top down, causing it to cut into the bottom of my calf and across my shin. Cuts off the circulation and causes swelling between the ankle and top of the sock, and makes for an uncomfortable day. If you're going to put some sort enhanced elastic at the top, may I suggest that you do so in a wider band and in a more graduated manner - this will keep you from having a constrictor band that negatively impacts those of us with nerve damage or other issues. Also, may want to consider expanding the diameter of the top in your larger sizes - those of us with very large feet are usually pretty large all over. I spent years playing football, lifting weights, and as a diver, so my legs are commensurately "thicker" from use and development. Old age has added an additional layer, so finding socks big enough has grown from a challenge to an obsession.

I wear these year round. They last a long time and are very comfortable. The wicking ability is great. Cool in summer, warm in winter.

Solo backpacking with camera gear requires heavy boots. These socks give full cushion and still dry overnight every night. I'm buying more.

As a past AT thru hiker, I can attest to the importance of good socks. Tried these LTH's on a recent short backpacking trip and was impressed with their fit and comfort. One of my favorite features, as trivial as it may appear is the small hem line in the toe box. Many other brands have large hems which dig into your toes creating hot spots or blisters. Not an issue with these. Combined with a thin liner, these socks provided a hassle free (no bunching or loss of shape) fit and remained comfortable over multiple 10 hour days with a full pack. Highly recommend them.

These socks are comfortable, never ever slide into your shoe and last a very long time. I have never had to deal with blisters. I've walked the Avon 2 day 3 times in them and I have no problem. Well worth the money. I would not use any other socks for sports.
