Health & Wellness Diabetic socks
If you are among the more than 25 million adults in the United States with diabetes, you will appreciate the benefits of Thorlos clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS), highly effective diabetic socks with unique padding clinically shown to reduce blisters, pain, pressures and moisture. Blisters and any other lesion or break in the skin can set the stage for diabetic ulcerations and amputation. Thorlos padding protects the feet’s skin/soft-tissue so these are less likely to occur.
“Since I started wearing Thorlos socks I don't get blisters on my feet. As a diabetic, this is very important!” Sherry M.
According to the US National Institutes of Health and National Library of Medicine, if you have diabetes you are more likely to have foot problems. Diabetes can damage your nerves (diabetic neuropathy), which may make you less able to feel an injury or pressure on the skin of your foot. Thus, you might not notice a foot injury (unrecognized trauma to the feet) until severe damage or infection develops. This is why skin/soft-tissue management of the feet is critical if you have diabetes.
Diabetes also changes your body's ability to fight infections—a cut or sore may take a long time to heal, if it heals at all. Damage to blood vessels because of diabetes results in less blood and oxygen getting to your feet. Because of this, small sores or breaks in the skin may become deeper skin ulcers; if skin ulcers do not improve, get larger or go deeper into the skin, your toes, foot or leg may have to be amputated. That’s why it’s vitally important to properly manage the skin/soft tissue of the feet and see your health care provider regularly, have regular foot exams and check and care for your feet every day (see http://www.ipfh.org/foot-conditions/diabetes:-foot-concerns/daily-foot-care-for-people-with-diabetes/), especially if you already have nerve or blood vessel damage or current foot problems. Clearly, preventive foot care is critical for a person with diabetes.
“These are the best. Having diabetic foot issues, I value the safety and performance of these socks.” Herbert A.
How Thorlos Help with Soft-Tissue Management of the Feet
Thorlos PADDS have padding that is uniquely designed and engineered for people with diabetes and can help protect against the negative consequences of diabetes-related foot conditions. The padding of these diabetic socks, which our customers and health professionals tell us are highly effective in providing diabetic foot protection, has been clinically shown to reduce blisters, pain, foot pressures and moisture.
Taken together, these benefits provide unique, clinically shown comprehensive protection for the skin/soft tissues of the feet, thereby addressing the major foot-health risks associated with diabetes.
“Being diabetic, I must pamper my feet and these socks are perfect with my new exercise shoes. They are so comfortable I wear them often.” Mary M.
Thorlos CTPS Will Help You Stay Active
Staying active is a key to managing your diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association, regular activity can: improve your blood sugar, lower your blood pressure, help you lose weight, lower your risk of other health problems such as heart attack or stroke, give you more energy, reduce stress and improve your flexibility.
“I walk daily for my diabetes and I swear by these socks. It is common for diabetics to have feet problems but with these socks to cushion my feet, I've had none. I highly recommend them!” Judi H.
Thorlos can help you get or stay active by making your feet as comfortable as possible, reducing any pain and thereby making it easier to be on your feet for longer periods. You will also have peace of mind that your feet will be protected during activity, reducing the chances of blisters, pressures and moisture…the causes of ulceration.
“A sales person recommended these socks for my boyfriend who has diabetes and needs good socks/shoes, especially to work out. These are the first we purchased and he has been able to be active w/out foot problems. I am online buying more.” Wendy V.
Thorlos offers two types of clinically-tested padded socks for the diabetic foot:

Very comfortable and relax. Excellent quality and elasticity

So, these socks are well padded and comfortable to wear but the quality is probably the worse I've ever seen in a sock. It really looks like the socks are unfinished or they just took a long sock, cut it short with a pair of scissors and mailed it to me. There's no real border or stitching to define the top of the sock, it's the same as the body of the sock, so because there's no elastic or anything at the top, they tend to slide down past my ankle. Also, I ordered a smaller size than I would normally wear for my size 10.5 shoe and they still bunch up, slide around and want to slouch and fall off my ankle if I'm walking a lot. For the money I paid, these socks should be top quality, and they just aren't. I won't be ordering them again.

Not as good as the black socks

I've always enjoyed nice, cushy socks and discovered Thorlo sports socks years ago for playing racquetball. Once I started using the Thorlo I never had any raw, blistery or any foot problems from sports activities, and actually was an advocate for them with my regular group, especially when they groused about foot problems. I didn't think much about other styles of Thorlo's until recently when I learned of this sock. I’m so glad to have found this sock style so I can use them for non-sports use. Now, if they would only have them in a dark brown color, too, utopia!

My feet feel great - like I can walk longer and more comfortably than with regular socks

These are good socks for low cut shoes such as tennis or running shoes. If worn inside boots they tend to slide down and bunch up around the toes. I prefer the MPT1100's for wearing in boots. They stay pulled up and still have adequate cushion.

Wearing these socks every day have helped reduce the pain I have in my feet.

Two podiatrists and a primary care physician cannot diagonse my problem, so I decided to live with it. These socks make it possible! They stay up well without cutting off my circulation, and they cradle my sore feet so that I can do things again. Wish they came in colors other than black & white.

These socks did not disappoint. The material was very comfortable and thick. The construction was top notch. I didn't "feel" the socks which means they seemed like they were part of my person instead of an addition. As I stand for an 8hr day, I love me some quality socks!

Feel very good. Lived up to the recommendation of my podiatrist.
