Clinically-Tested Padded Socks For Feet That Hurt

Protect Your Feet: Soft-Tissue Management of Diabetic Feet

If you are among the more than 25 million adults in the United States with diabetes,  you will appreciate the  benefits of  Thorlos clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS), highly effective diabetic socks with unique padding clinically shown to reduce blisters, pain, pressures and moisture.  Blisters and any other lesion or break in the skin can set the stage for diabetic ulcerations and amputation. Thorlos padding protects the feet’s skin/soft-tissue so these are less likely to occur.

“Since I started wearing Thorlos socks I don't get blisters on my feet. As a diabetic, this is very important!” Sherry M.

According to the US National Institutes of Health and National Library of Medicine, if you have diabetes you are more likely to have foot problems. Diabetes can damage your nerves (diabetic neuropathy), which may make you less able to feel an injury or pressure on the skin of your foot. Thus, you might not notice a foot injury (unrecognized trauma to the feet) until severe damage or infection develops. This is why skin/soft-tissue management of the feet is critical if you have diabetes.

Diabetes also changes your body's ability to fight infections—a cut or sore may take a long time to heal, if it heals at all. Damage to blood vessels because of diabetes results in less blood and oxygen getting to your feet. Because of this, small sores or breaks in the skin may become deeper skin ulcers; if skin ulcers do not improve, get larger or go deeper into the skin, your toes, foot or leg may have to be amputated. That’s why it’s vitally important to properly manage the skin/soft tissue of the feet and see your health care provider regularly, have regular foot exams and check and care for your feet every day (see http://www.ipfh.org/foot-conditions/diabetes:-foot-concerns/daily-foot-care-for-people-with-diabetes/), especially if you already have nerve or blood vessel damage or current foot problems. Clearly, preventive foot care is critical for a person with diabetes.

“These are the best. Having diabetic foot issues, I value the safety and performance of these socks.” Herbert A.

How Thorlos Help with Soft-Tissue Management of the Feet

Thorlos PADDS  have padding that is uniquely designed and engineered for people with diabetes and can help protect against the negative consequences of diabetes-related foot conditions. The padding of these diabetic socks, which our customers and health professionals tell us are highly effective in providing diabetic foot protection, has been clinically shown to reduce blisters, pain, foot pressures and moisture.

Taken together, these benefits provide unique, clinically shown comprehensive protection for the skin/soft tissues of the feet, thereby addressing the major foot-health risks associated with diabetes.

“Being diabetic, I must pamper my feet and these socks are perfect with my new exercise shoes. They are so comfortable I wear them often.” Mary M.

Thorlos CTPS Will Help You Stay Active

Staying active is a key to managing your diabetes.  According to the American Diabetes Association, regular activity can: improve your blood sugar, lower your blood pressure, help you lose weight, lower your risk of other health problems such as heart attack or stroke, give you more energy, reduce stress and improve your flexibility.

“I walk daily for my diabetes and I swear by these socks. It is common for diabetics to have feet problems but with these socks to cushion my feet, I've had none. I highly recommend them!”  Judi H.

Thorlos can help you get or stay active by making your feet as comfortable as possible, reducing any pain and thereby making it easier to be on your feet for longer periods. You will also have peace of mind that your feet will be protected during activity, reducing the chances of blisters, pressures and moisture…the causes of ulceration.

“A sales person recommended these socks for my boyfriend who has diabetes and needs good socks/shoes, especially to work out. These are the first we purchased and he has been able to be active w/out foot problems. I am online buying more.”  Wendy V.

They are warm but they do not provide the cushioning I need on the bottom of my feet, The muscle pads have deteriorated and I am walking on bone. I don't know which of your products can provide some comfort for me and ones that I can get shoes on. I cannot tolerate the pain just from standing so walking is brutal. I've been told there is nothing that can be done for me. I am using a thin cusion that covers the area where the muscles were and this fits on my second toe with a loop. I think your products are great and I can see where people can find help. If there is something else you have that might work, please let me know. Thanks.

    Not for Cold Weather

Thorlos similar to these that I have purchased before have been really warm. I confess I buy them for every day use not running. My previous socks have had a higher thread count and been warmer. My guess is that the thread count is not as high. I love Thorlos but not this type.

I think these socks are great, but really wish they had even more padding in them. Thorlos, please try to make socks with even more padding for those of us with fat pad atrophy!

    great sock for elerly

I bought these socks for my 88 year old dad in memory care. I specifically bought them because they have a gentle crew top elastic. Other socks left impressions in his skin, PADDs do not.

Perfect socks for peripheral neuropathy sufferers

    03/22/15 | By

I have been suffering from peripheral neuropathy for about 10 yrs (both of my feet are numb, with occasional tingling and pain), and these socks have been a lifesaver. When I have them on, I don't have that horrible "walking on sharp rocks" sensation that I experience when I am barefoot or wearing thin socks. I also love the nice compression these high socks provide for my calves -- it definitely helps with the circulation in my lower legs. I highly recommend these socks.

    Great socks!

    03/21/15 | By

Over the calf, great support, stay up all day, helps keep swelling down in legs and ankles. Padding on heel and bottom of feet area in these socks greatly help reduce foot pain. Pricey, but worth the cost if they hold up well.
