Foot Protection is Our Game
Regardless of how often or how intensely you snowboard, with Thorlos, it’s all about protecting your feet. We focus on protection with our engineered padding so you can have as much fun as possible.
Our clinically-tested padding is put precisely where you need it:
Calf padding: protects lower leg from boot pressure and shearing forces = more comfort
Ball and heel padding: protects against shearing forces = more comfort
Shin, instep and arch padding: lighter padding for better fit = more comfort
“These socks were amazing! Kept me warm, dry and comfortable when I boarded 4 days in a row, 8hrs each day!” Kyle M.
Recreational boarders by definition don’t get out on the mountain very much. The last thing they want is their feet to hurt or get cold. Thorlos SNB clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS) for snowboarding provided more protection than regular snowboarding socks and will keep you comfortable and out on the snow. This padding has been clinically shown in independent studies to reduce blisters, pain, pressures on the feet and moisture. They also were designed to provide a comfortable fit with rental boots for boarding on easy-to-varied terrain.
The more dense padding in the SNB is an excellent choice for women in particular, as a woman’s foot is usually smaller in the ankle and has a higher instep than a man’s foot. The ankle padding and spandex arch support are perfect for these anatomical differences, ensuring great protection and the best possible fit. Warmth is assured by the use of a blend of THORLON and wool yarns.
“Gave as a gift. She wears them every time she goes snowboarding.” Meredith C.
In the end, more protection equals more comfort, which means you can snowboard to your heart’s content.

For experienced boarders and those who race or are competitive freestylers, we make our XSNB performance-level snowboarding socks with lighter protective padding and less protection. At this level, you want absolutely no “slop” inside your boot so you can cleanly and quickly transfer your foot actions to the edge of the board. You need a Lite padded sock (LPS) that doesn’t get in the way, yet protects in a way that complements professionally fitted boots. This is our XSNB—where the X is for extreme.
We use a blend of THORLON® and THORWICK® in our thin-padded XSNB snowboarding sock for superior wicking to keep your feet dry because a dry foot is a warm foot. THORLON maintains its resiliency so the cushioning will last all day long.
“The Thorlos snowboarding socks were so much better than others I bought at a board shop because they stay up, don't bunch up in your boots and really keep your feet warm and they are soft, not like itchy wool.” Linda S

Do you work in a factory with cold cement floors in the winter? Try wearing these socks in your safety shoes/boots. No more cold feet! Stay warm and toasty no matter how cold those floors are. Great for inside winter boots for long walks with the dog as well. Best solution for cold feet that I have found.

My feet are a U.S. Men’s Size: 10, medium to narrow with and I need good arch support and cushioning for comfort and to take up some volume for a good snug proper fit, I am an ex-Soccer player so I love a glove like fit regarding my footwear. I where Nikes sneakers, Asolo Hiking Boots, SIDI Cycling Shoes & Motorcycle Boots, and Atomic Ski Boots. Thorlo’s XSKI Extreme Ski Socks are #1 The BEST Ski Socks ever!!! BUT they have been Discontinued :( and again another one of my classic favorites the #2 SLW Ski Wool/Silk Socks have been discontinued :( If you want the best Snowboarding socks these are them, to bad Thorlo stopped making the Skiing counterpart to these awesome socks. My favorite Ski/Winter socks have been discontinued so I am NOT happy at all and neither are my feet! I have owned and worn Thorlo’s SLW Ski Wool/Silk Socks for years they last and last. I also sold tons of them when I worked at a Ski, Snowboard & Boat Shop, that is the most important piece of gear when going skiing - a great pair of Thorlo’s. I am so bummed out that Thorlo just discontinued all my other favorite adventure socks :( listed below. Thorlo PLEASE bring my favorite socks back!!! Discontinued :( XSKI Extreme Ski Socks, Color: Charcoal/Black = Skiing, Shoveling Snow & Winter Motorcycling Awesomeness! Discontinued :( XWXU Experia Wool Silk Crew Socks, Color: Charcoal = Hiking, Fall/Winter Trail Running and Casual Awesomeness! Discontinued :( XCXU-12-073 - Experia Crew Socks, Color: Black/White = Spring/Fall Hiking, Spring/Fall/Winter Trail Running and Casual Awesomeness! WLTH Light Hiking Socks in Color: Charcoal Discontinued :( MADE In USA make me happy :) but Thorlo you guys keep discontinuing every pair of socks I love, what am I going to wear on my feet now???

The grip high on my calf and stay up. I wear them as work socks year around and when hiking I add XJ socks to prevent chaffing.

I gave a pair of these to one of the guys at work who loves to snowboard. When he came back from his snowboard trip, he was so excited to tell me that "they were the best socks he's ever worn!" He said they stayed up well, kept his feet warm and he was not as fatigued when he finished for the day. Pretty sure I made you a new customer for life! Great socks

These socks actually fill a dual purpose. I work in a food warehouse, mostly in the colder places and I found that these snowboard socks fill the bill for warmth and also hold up super inside of my steel-toed boots. The second advantage is the support that I get from these socks and at 69 years old and on my feet most of the day, my legs are as good as a person half my age.

Spending 12 Hours in 36 degrees and sitting on a forklift for 6 hours out of the 12 with not a lot of movement these socks are great at keeping my feet warm. My feet sweat a lot and it is hard to find socks that keep your feet warm and dry even in such cool temperatures.

I know these are billed out as rental snowboarder socks, but I chose Thorlos because they are the best. These sockets I wear to work. They don't sag and at the end of the day I am not in a hurry to take them off. They do not wear out the bottom of your feet, so you want them off as fast as you can. Thanks for a great product.
