Padding Clinically Shown to Reduce Foot Pain for People with Arthritis

Thorlos Health Padds uniquely constructed padding has been clinically shown to provide pain relief and reduce pressures that plague feet affected by rheumatoid arthritis. If you are among the 50 million Americans with rheumatoid arthritis, you will appreciate the guaranteed benefits of clinically-tested Thorlos padded socks, with padding clinically shown to reduce blisters, pain, pressures and moisture. According to the Arthritis Foundation, arthritis—in all its forms—is a more frequent cause of activity limitation than heart disease, cancer or diabetes, and one in three people with arthritis experiences work limitations. Countless more are in constant pain.

The structural changes to the foot that accompany the progression of arthritis — e.g., joint damage, foot deformity, hammer toes, bunions — make feet vulnerable to pain and further damage even with mild impact. Health Padds unique padding acts as a protective shield against jarring impacts, which can be painful, from walking on hard surfaces as well as up and down stairs. While the pain-reduction research results were based on rheumatoid arthritis sufferers, we have a large amount of anecdotal evidence that the padding reduces foot aches and pain generally.

Health Padds Will Help You Stay Active

Arthritis often causes foot pain and other problems that severely restrict mobility. Thorlos clinically-tested padded socks (CTPS) help you stay active and function to the best of your ability. With Thorlos, your walking/mobility program—a key to maintaining function and reducing arthritis foot pain and other symptoms—will be easier on your joints, and potentially more enjoyable.

Satisfied Wearers Say It Best

Here are what some of our customers with arthritis are saying about Thorlos Health Padds:

“I have terrible feet, with many problems such as arthritis, bunions, hammer toes, martin toes and neuropathy. I am prone to blisters, calluses and pressure points on my feet. Since wearing these  socks ,my problems have been alleviated considerably and generally just feel better. These  socks allow me to do more physical activity because my feet don’t poop out on me.” John S.

“I bought these to wear with my CROW boot AFO which I wear for my for Charcot ankle/foot. They are perfect, fit to knee and great padding on the Achilles tendon. Help my poor old worn out arthritic foot also by providing padding and wicking away of moisture.” Terri M.

“I purchased these for my daughter, an assistant store manager for large grocery chain, when she was diagnosed with reactive rheumatoid arthritis in her feet and hands. They helped immensely during her long recovery time, which confirmed my love of these  socks. She is sold on these  socks forever now.” Regina C.

“These socks are a major comfort for my feet which suffer from arthritis among other problems. The soft, springy construction provides buffering as well as support. They are comfortable in summer and winter and are so durable that the initial cost is easily justified.” Helen M.

Recommended Products

Every person’s arthritis manifests differently,  so it’s not possible to recommend an “arthritis sock” per se. What you can do is identify where your pain tends to be, and how your daily and recreational activities impact that pain. Then you can choose the right clinically-tested Thorlos for you.

If you need:

Ball – Heel Protection:  Clinically-tested Thorlos Health Padds will protect and cushion the bottom of the foot.

Ball – Heel – Instep Protection:  Thorlos clinically-tested padded walking socks will protect and cushion the bottom of the foot, and provides extra padding protection for the top arch area of the foot.

Ball – Heel – Top-of-Toe Protection: Thorlos clinically-tested padded tennis socks will protect and cushion the bottom of the foot and the top of toes…provides extra toe protection for those with moderate/severe hammer toes.

Best ones I've found for my idiopathic neuropathy

Foot of the sock feels fabulous. These are crew socks and the elastic is sometimes binding. I have thin legs and don't experience much swelling but still have to fold or roll them down after a few hours. Have had good luck with Thorlos in general which is why I tried these. Please try to find a less binding upper section.

    Would have liked more padding

Enjoy the uppers. Stays up, but not too tight, quite soft. Very comfortable and soft, but would like a little more padding on the bottom for those long days working outside.

Surely one of the best-feeling and most comfortable of diabetic socks.

Excellent fit. Extremely comfortable. Minimal slippage. A breathable all-season midweight sock. The relaxed-fit upper sock edge leaves a single, slight compression mark on the calf. Thorlo Padds—the HRX crew or mid-calf, the HXS over-the-calf, the HRMX mini-crew—are designed and recommended specifically for diabetic feet, and are the best American-made diabetic socks. All Thorlo Padds are unisex and available only in white and in black. The Thorlo HRMX mini-crew ($15.99) is a superior year-round sleep sock and ultra-casual summer sock. Thorlo at first would neither disclose its yarn-supplier nor confirm that its yarns are fabricated in the U.S. of U.S. materials. Subsequently, Susan Graham of Thorlo stated: “100 percent of all THORLO yarns are made in USA and all fibers are made in USA if such fibers are available in USA.”

    Good Diabetic Socks

    09/17/16 | By

I order a free sample a year ago for my husband and he loved them. So I waited until all his socks were no good about 1 year later. I would have given these a 5 but the changed the sock from the previous year by adding a band to the top. My husband has bigger calfs and does not like this feature.
